Signed on the base J Perzel. Recent productions of this model by the Perzel workshop are a little higher (188 cm), with a smaller basin (63 cm), and a base with straight edges. They are offered from €11,420... "This floor lamp from the 1930s was chosen to decorate the luxury apartment "Trouville" on the Normandy liner in 1935, as well as the gallery of lost steps at the League of Nations in Geneva. .. The city of Paris acquired it for the International Exhibition of Arts and Technology in 1937... It is exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art of the city of Paris..." extract from the J. Perzel catalog. Good general condition, with scratches and wear on the golden patina, basin in perfect condition, electrification OK (internal wire changed), with original bakelite socket, without switch... Superb lighting!... Old E27 socket in brass and porcelain, fixed on an "internal horn" at the top of the foot (easy to remove to change the bulb), and adjustable in height by a sliding strip fitted with a tightening screw...(original system and functional)...see photos. Base of the base slightly raised and weighted by a strong ring of white lacquered steel. A superb and very elegant light fixture, authentically “in its own right”!
