Large Haico Nitzsche ceramic table lamp for Søholm Stentøj, Denmark 1970s

Ceramic table lamp from the 1970s, designed by haico nitzsche. Sculptural lamp in glazed stoneware in natural tones. Haico nitzsche trained as a ceramicist in germany before teaching at the national institute of design in ahmedabad, india, from 1968 to 1970. Nitzsche was one of denmark's leading ceramic designers in the 1970s and was technical leader and designer at søholm from 1974 to 1982. His work is always distinguished by functional objects with a strong sculptural essence. This model of lamp is usually signed "soholm denmark" and by the designer's name "haico". This is not the case here, it is probably a prototype or a pre-series lamp. The lamp is equipped with a new lampshade, diameter 35cm.
