Pillola lamps, a set of five lamps in blue, white, green, red and yellow abs plastic and acrylic. The lamps are turnable in many directions because the are carried on a translucent ring with rubber ring in it. Designed by cesare casati and emanuele ponzio, italy, 1968. Cesare maria casati (milan, 29 august 1936 [1]) is an italian architect, designer, journalist, cultural influencer. A pupil of gio ponti, he was called by the latter in the 1960s to the editorial staff of domus (editoriale domus), a magazine he took over from july 1976 to june 1979. Since 1967 he has been a member of the association for industrial design (adi). From january 1981 until june 1985 he was editor-in-chief of the magazine la mia casa (peruzzo editore). In february 1986 he founded the publishing house l’arca edizioni in milan and is editor-in-chief of the international magazine of architecture, design and visual communication, l’arca and, in 1995, of l’arca international. Since 1999 he has collaborated in various titles with the brera academy in milan and with the faculty of architecture in valle giulia (rome), while organizing numerous exhibitions, displays and conferences around the world on the issues of italian design and architecture. In particular, he plans and coordinates the four art and design exhibitions “eurodomus” (genoa 1966; turin 1967; milan 1970; turin 1971). He is defined by exibart as a passionate lover of the useful, poetic and meaningful project that from the beginning combines without trivializing architecture and design, environment, context and emotion. Among his design works there is the “pillola lamps.”, c. Emanuele ponzio, 1968, exhibited in the collection of moma in new york. The biography and history of casati makes the pillola lamps very unique and rare. Ale lamps in good and working condition, the white lamp armature has a glued scratch on the white acrylic to be seen on the final picture.
