Description
Very nice painting by paul harot (1895 - 1987). Might have been painted in the 1940s or before. The paint on the wood has flaked in a homogeneous way over the whole work, which in my opinion gives it a crazy charm. Especially since the colors of the painting are in total chromatic harmony with the wooden support. The wooden support has itself suffered the outrages of time, and cracked on the surface, here and there, these accidents due to the years that have passed, add character to the work, like an ancient mural. Dimensions 32cm X 45.5cm. Paul harot was born in marseille, studied at the school of fine arts in marseille, came second, and met his friend dubout. He has had a career as a cartoonist and painter. He worked for the best newspapers of the time in france and new york. He was a member of the society of french artists. It is inspired by scenes of everyday life, but not only, because nudes, still lifes, landscapes, portraits, bouquets of flowers are other witnesses of his wide palette.
