Old wooden chest

This charming large wooden storage chest has certainly already had several lives and will be able to find a new one for sure! He must not be under 60 or 70 years old, maybe more. It is made of wood with nice metal fittings, latches and handles. Inside, it has a three-compartment tray that rests on 4 metal "corners". I cleaned it (brush leaching and vinegar water then brushing generously with pure vinegar, this is my natural method to replace chemical deworming because it has beetle holes) and I lightly scraped the paint that was peeling on the metal parts so that you can better see the fittings in the photos. It therefore remains in its juice with its old paint (several layers in places), its stains, its beetle holes, its superficial corrosion on certain metal parts, its small gaps and marks on the wood... You can use it as it is because it is still very solid, the clasps work (one is a little hard), but not the central latch (absent in part), but it would also make a good base for a nice restoration, and deserve it: stripping and beauty outside and inside. It measures 43 cm by 25 cm for a height of 26 cm. It weighs about 4 kg.
