It was in 1768 that exploitable deposits of kaolin were found, an essential material for the production of this ceramic, and it was from this discovery that limoges porcelain was born and developed. In 1912 the vignaud brothers, gustave and albert, took over a factory founded by mr. Corret, a kaolin merchant in 1838. They transformed it and operated it together until 1938. After this date, albert vignaud remained alone until 1970, when it was bought by the porcelain company bernardaud.
