Description
A large modernist oil landscape by the swedish painter gideon isaksson (1911-1980). It was painted by the artist in the 1960s. The painting is hand-signed in the lower left corner. Made in oil technique on panel. In the original frame.the painting depicts a landscape from spain, where the artist went on study trips. Sven gideon isaksson, born june 10, 1911 in stoby, died in 1980, was a swedish painter. Isaksson studied at the skåne school of painting in malmö 1935-1936 and for kræsten iversen at the danish academy of fine arts in copenhagen and during study trips to italy, france and spain. He exhibited separately in trelleborg several times and together with lennart rosensohn and eric cederberg in landskrona in 1956. He took part in collective exhibitions with the skåne artistic association. His art consists of still lifes, flowers, landscapes from southern and central sweden, port and street motifs from stockholm, copenhagen and trelleborg in a naturalistic style. Isaksson is represented at the trelleborgs museum and the lasarett trelleborgs.
